We were involved on a "design & build" basis on a complete internal renovation of an existing 1930's house & new 2 storey modern rear and side extension in Neath, South Wales.
Our involvement included the design of the extension, interior spaces and all planning drawings and submissions to the local authority. We had to make an Application to the local water board to move a mains manhole and obtain build over mains sewer approval. Sourcing & specification of all building products & finishes. We liased with building control and produced a specification for all products & produced relevant drawings for all specialist construction details.vWe were also responsible for sourcing & managing all subcontractors during the build. Detail setting out drawings for the manufacture & installation of all steel beams based upon structural engineers reports were also produced by Bankhead Design. Some of the building work which was carried out by Bankhead Design included the part demolition of an existing single-storey extension, installing the concrete base, internal plasterboarding, installing all insulation, constructing stud partition walls, installing an external cedar wood cladding system, fitting the skylight, creating an internal brick slip wall & installing an EPDM flat roofing system with parapet wall. All joinery work including skirtings, architraves, bespoke shelving, hanging doors, ironmongery, decorations & laying engineered wood flooring was also carried out by Bankhead Design. The main property was completed in March of 2018 with all external works including the driveway & patio being carried out in 2019.
